A journey to Italy
Two participants in the Giove project, Gergely Földes and Martin Milánkovics have prepared a presentation titled „A journey to Italy” to show some photos of their Italian study trip and to share their experiences with the students in our school.
Our secondary grammar school was invited to take part in a European Union project: the local council in Bácsalmás together with Grantorto in Italy and Székelyudvarhely in Romania applied for the Europe for Citizens programme successfully, so eight students in our seventh grade got the opportunity to participate in the Giove project.
The aim of the project was to raise awareness of the values of the EU as well as to encourage the democratic participation of the young in local matters. We started the preparatory work in March: we learned the basic information about the European citizenship, we got in contact with the Europe Direct desk in Kecskemét and we prepared our presentations.
At the beginning of May our delegation went on a study trip to Grantorto, Italy. The following power point presentation shows the most memorable events of our journey.
